Traditional vs. Implant-Supported Dentures
February 28, 2018
An implant-supported denture is a type of overdenture that is supported by and attached to implants. A regular denture rests on the gums, and is not supported by implants. An implant-supported denture is used when a person doesn't have any teeth in the jaw, but has enough bone in the jaw to support implants.
If you’ve struggled with traditional dentures in any way– chewing, sores, speech—you understand that though great for some, there can be limitation. The issues go beyond comfort. Since dentures float on the gums, they fail to stimulate the underlying bone. If the jawbone is not “exercised” through stimulation, it begins to dissolve and shrink.

Happy Children’s Dental Health Month!
February 2, 2018
Since 1981, the month of February has been recognized by the American Dental Association (ADA) as National Children’s Dental Health Month. Originating as a single day program in 1949, it was expanded to aid in increasing oral health awareness and promoting healthy smiles for kids. The goal is to emphasize to both parents and children the importance of being proactive, rather than reactive, when it comes to pediatric dentistry and health needs.
