  1. Keep the Meal Short - It’s the best part of the day, gathering around the dinner table with family and friends to share a delicious meal. While it’s okay to stay at the table and visit, be aware, you may be tempted to continue snacking past your third helping of mashed potatoes! When you continue to expose your teeth to the acids in food by snacking throughout the day, it makes it easier for cavity-causing bacteria to build up in your mouth. Instead of passing the time by munching, focus on spending time with each other. Share stories, play games or go for a walk.
